Mentor Meet Ups

In addition to the program training sessions, we invite current participants and graduates of Take the Lead programs to join us for ongoing networking events to make new connections and to continue the conversation on leadership.  Several Mentors will lead a discussion over dinner at our Take the Lead Thought Leadership Dinner Series, encouraging the group to share ideas and challenges and collaboratively develop solutions and identify opportunities.

Big Impact

We value the feedback, suggestions, and support of our program participants and mentors. They share their insights helping evolve Scala programming into what it is today – ensuring that we meet the needs of our members – offering events and professional development opportunities that are a source for meaningful connections and profound leadership coaching.

“These sessions gave me a great sense of camaraderie with fellow female professionals – so valuable these days! Women typically work so hard to maintain senior roles that they don’t have time to mentor other women – it was fabulous to have unrestricted access to some very successful women (mentors and attendees). These sessions have also made me understand better that women consistently dwell on our weaknesses and has opened my eyes to viewing my skills as valuable instead of just inherent to who I am.”

“The format is engaging, and the mentors are a valuable component to the program. Their experiences complimented the topics discussed. It was worthwhile to review the different types of leadership personalities, and to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of each one. One of the key aspects that define Scala events is the opportunity delve into key topics in alternating smaller groups. This offers the opportunity for everyone to speak with each other, and appreciate a wide range of perspectives. The topics are relevant, and the format allows for a relaxed and a truly engaging networking event.”

“I would highly recommend the Scala Take the Lead program, the personal takeaways were invaluable. The confidence in my leadership skills has increased tremendously. From a practical perspective, I have learned new techniques for keeping myself at the top of my game. If you’re a woman in the prime of your career, or even just starting out, and you want to learn to be a better leader, then this course is for you”

– Spring 2015 participant

“The people are exceptional and I must say that Scala has a certain type of participants, not sure how this is done, but the inclusion is most important and to feel part of such a dynamic team is amazing.”

Why limit attendance?

We keep our events intimate, allowing for interactive, one-on-one engagement, and guaranteed follow-up. By selecting program leaders and speakers that are genuinely invested in our members’ growth, we keep the dialogue going well beyond the end of the program.

Making connections

To us, successful networking requires abandoning your elevator pitch and actually connecting with people– sharing perspectives, debating real issues, and opening up to new ideas. We keep our events small, inclusive, and collaborative. By participating in our Scala networking model, members engage in collaborative learning experiences and walk away with that stack of business cards and authentic relationships.

Our program networking model is simple: ignite discussion.

  1. Provide Inspiration & Fuel for Thought
  2. Conduct Focused Round Table Discussion
  3. Share Learning Insights, Perspectives & Questions
